About Us

The HomeSchool Helpers is a nonprofit 501c3 Corporation with a mission focused on assisting

homeschoolers training in physical fitness skills to earn state required physical education credits, as

well as educational electives to meet other NH state requirements.

The Homeschool Helpers have assembled a phenomenal team of volunteers to assist homeschooled

children with educational and recreational programs. Since we do not have a previous year as we

just started this year, we are proud of our accomplishments to date and would love to share them.

In January 2021, we received a grant for over $12,000 from the United States Tennis Association

New England chapter to teach homeschool children basic physical fitness, strength training and

tennis. This program was an instant success with the students and families. In the first 5 months we

had taught 200 children, tennis, a sport given basic equipment can be played anywhere for the rest of

their lives. We also taught the children beginner sports such as jumping rope, soccer, basketball,

hockey, kickboxing and more. Many of these children had never had an opportunity to play any sport.

We provided racquets, balls, professional coaches with an in indoor facility so all could enjoy the

physical activity, camaraderie.

Our program was well received by all, and the United States Tennis Association’s New Hampshire

division granted us $3,500 to extend the programs and the broaden our reach. With these funds we

were able to purchase some much-needed equipment and run a summer program where we were

able to start the educational piece of our 501c3 goals. The HomeSchool Helpers were able to bring

coding and exercise to the homeschool students by using the Unruly Splats Coding Program. This

coding program brings many of the physical education and physical literacy of the 21st century skills

including; empathy, collaboration, creativity, risk taking, critical thinking, communication and

technology.

The Unruly Splats are programmable floor 12 x 12 squares that students code with either an iPad or

computer. The iPad or computer sends the directions to the Unruly Splats squares which will then

light up, make noise, can be jumped on, clapped on, and used in various different ways. The

squares come loaded with basic games such as Whack-a-mole, Unruly Corn Hole, relay races and

music. The HomeSchool Helpers incorporated the Unruly Splats in our tennis and fitness programs.

The students were given the task of creating tennis themed coding games. Two of the games our

students created have been selected by the Unruly Splats Corporation and they are now sharing

those games to their other clientele. This is just one example of what the homeschool children can

accomplish given the assistance the HomeSchool Helpers are providing.
